Coulson Macleod Keeps Calm

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Coulson Macleod’s latest collection of limited edition prints… Calm Britannia

Distressed Union Jack flags printed onto natural, coarse-weave, unbleached linen and then encased in a chunky sandwich of reclaimed wood.

Three different quotes.

Each print costs £169.

The frames are all handmade using reclaimed antique Victorian roof timbers. We’re totally loving all the natural defects in the timber too, they just ooze charm and character. Bring on the knot holes, nail holes, warps, and water marks!

We’ve fallen head-over-heels in love with these prints. So unique. And we particularly enjoy seeing the linen slightly waft when you open a door!

I Have A Thing For Doors

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

I have a thing for old wooden doors and can’t pass one without swooning.  I’ve fallen in love with so many over the years.

Seeing as we at Coulson Macleod are just about to launch a new collection of vintage-looking oak framed prints I thought I’d share some of my old wooden doors with you that I’ve spotted both here in England and overseas.

Coulson Macleod’s Typographic Art on Wood

Sample Artwork

Coulson Macleod’s limited edition contemporary typographic art print

I’m sitting here admiring our first sample of art printed onto wood and feeling very pleased with myself.

It’s gorgeous.

Distressed typography, printed onto wood, and then framed in a vintage-looking hand-crafted chunky solid oak frame.

It looks like something only lucky people find in junk shops, which is never me.

So we cheated and made our own.
