Win A Bespoke Typographic Print

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

Fancy winning a bespoke typographic print in time for Valentine’s Day?

Coulson Macleod has teamed up with Rock My Wedding — the UK’s most popular wedding blog — and we’re giving away not one, but two, bespoke prints.

The first to choose from is our bespoke ‘What’ print on solid limestone with a handmade reclaimed timber frame (worth £169).

The second choice is our bespoke handmade ‘What’ print with a solid oak frame (worth 239).

Both prints can be personalised by adding your own names and a date at the bottom. Unless of course you happen to be called Mark & Hannah and you’re getting married on June 15th 2012. You can also change the colour of the text if you so wish.

The words were written by Coulson for Macleod (yes, that’s us) when we met & fell in love.

And, as Coulson & Macleod are getting married this year, we thought we’d share the love.

Coulson Macleod Rocks The Wedding Shows

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

Our very good friends over at Rock My Wedding were asked along to The National Wedding Show (in London Earl’s Court & Birmingham’s NEC). They were given a stand in the bloggers area along with our other wedding blog friends I Am Staggered.

And Rock My Wedding asked us if we’d provide some typographic artwork.

We have massive respect for Rock My Wedding. Practically everyone getting married reads it. We’re getting married next June. And we read it daily. The founder, Charlotte, is also a Coulson Macleod customer. So how could we refuse?

We sent them our ‘Wedded Bliss&It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll’ typographic limestone prints.

Their photos from their blog are so lovely we’ve put them here for you to see too.

Win A Coulson Macleod On Rock My Wedding

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

It’s no secret that Coulson and Macleod are getting married. Which means we’re paying far more attention to wedding-related blogs and websites.

Before being engaged, I looked through the wedding blogs for more aesthetic reasons. They are generally beautifully styled. And yes, you get to spy on other people’s weddings, which is strictly a girl-thing.

One of our favourites is Rock My Wedding and we have a great relationship with them. Not least because one of the founders, Charlotte, owns one of our ‘Love Makes The Ride Worthwhile’ prints.

Charlotte even featured the print on a post called Wherever I lay my (fancy) hat… that’s my home.

And we get many Rock My Wedding readers becoming Coulson Macleod customers.

But now that I’m a bride-to-be, I can’t get enough of their site. The design is great. The content is fresh. And they maintain a high standard of the weddings that they feature. All unique and lovely.

So the fact they were extremely keen to collaborate with us made us very happy.

So, if you fancy winning one of our new ‘Love Unlimited’ prints in time for Valentine’s Day, go on over and check out Rock My Wedding to find out how.

Coulson Macleod Knows About Love

Monday, July 19th, 2010

What is love?

To solve that riddle with just one answer is beyond me, for love is many different and contradictory things.

In the early stages love is excitement and breathlessness, it is the ache of separation and the comfort of togetherness, and it builds inexorably to that moment when ‘I’ becomes ‘we’.

Later, if blessed, love becomes a stronger, less transitory thing, a foundation for two lives lived as one.

It is all around us, there for the taking, yet to seek it out is futile.

It cannot be bought or stolen or given.  It cannot be avoided or denied.

Love is the beautiful, wonderful, mysterious mortar that binds two souls together and I first heard its voice on the day I met you.

It has been with me every moment since.

This is what love is.”

Coulson Macleod Is Staggered

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Now I usually only write about things that get me going, hence why it’s called Macleod’s Musings. I like a little bit of vintage, a little bit of contemporary design, and quite often just random bits of girly loveliness.

But I’ve been politely nudged (actually more like heckled) to write about this online magazine because basically they’re shameless promoters. And I’ve succumbed because they’ve been very good to Coulson Macleod. Our personalized art was featured on their Gift Idea page and they also got us onto the US wedding site Wedding Gawker.

So I introduce you to Staggered, whose editorial mission is: Weddings. Blokes. Sorted.

Yes, Staggered is THE place for men getting married. Or dreaming of getting married (I’d like to believe that some men do dream of this).

Staggered says, “So, if you’re looking for the sort of wedding advice that wins you Brownie Points from the lady in your life, guidance on wedding suits or speeches, or how to make the honeymoon go with a bang. Or you simply want to read something that makes you laugh: that’s what Staggered is all about.”

Staggered claims they can help to make married life go more smoothly. And as I like their illustrations and their witty banter, I’m all for believing them.

Rock My Wedding

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

No not my wedding, but the name of a very cool UK wedding blog Rock My Wedding

Charlotte, who also happens to be the prettiest bride I’ve ever seen, has written lovely things about Coulson Macleod’s Love collection,

Rock My Wedding's Charlotte

Well, well, well.  They are really rather gorgeous I must say.  A magnificent idea for a wedding gift or just as a special Christmas gift to yourself.  And just how very cool would one of these look as décor at your Big Day — imagine the photo opportunities. Beautiful right? I was thinking of scheduling this post for next week at some point but then realised they are in fact limited edition, only 250 available in each design and then they are ALL gone. And believe me they are already selling like hot cakes. Get thee on to the Coulson Macleod website pronto.  There are lots of contemporary pieces of pretty to inspire and admire.”

Couldn’t have said that any better!

Love — A Perfect Wedding Gift

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

I know that a couple of our pieces from the Love collection have been bought as wedding gifts.

Which made me realise that I hadn’t sent any info to any of the wedding blogs or magazines — I have effectively missed an entire market.  Crumbs!

Which in turn got me thinking that they’d be very popular as a Valentine’s Day gift too.  Not even Christmas and I’m thinking of next spring.

Love

So much to do, so little time!
