Admittedly this has been on the Coulson Macleod agenda for some time. Our customers keep asking for it. And now, finally, we’ve almost done it…

designed two more typographic prints for our ‘Decades’ collection; ‘The Nineties’ and ‘The Noughties’. Yay!

And, even more exciting news, we’re also launching a bespoke version too. We’ll obviously show you the finished prints when they’re ready.

These are the three existing typographic prints in our ‘Decades’ collection…

Our three new typographic prints will feature brand-new, even lovelier and chunkier, frames. Professionally framed by a Fine Art Trade Guild member.

So in preparation for the launch, we’ve put our framed ‘Decades’ collection (with the old-style picture frame) in our Clearance Page. So don’t hesitate if you fancy picking up a bargain, numbers are limited, and when they’ve sold out… well they’re sold out.

Natural reclaimed materials. Check. Typography. Check. Handmade. Check. Vintage feel. Check. Oh, so very Coulson Macleod.

Introducing Coulson Macleod’s Curio Collection, inspired by old pharmaceutical adverts.

For this new vintage art collection, we’ve used hessian, a coarse woven fabric made from the vegetable fibre, jute. We’ve wrapped the hessian around a block measuring 35cm x 35cm just so you know and printed the artwork onto the fabric. Then we’ve mounted this hessian print onto a handmade frame made from gorgeous reclaimed wood (Victorian roof timbers to be exact). The inside of the frame is hand-painted white.

This artwork has an unlimited print quantity.

We’ve attached a hanging mechanism to the rear of the frame so it’s ready for you to hang on your wall.

And just in case you were thinking that the wood looked a bit, well, vintage. Yep! That’s the way we like it. We purposefully retain any defects in the timber to add to the charm and character of the piece. These can include knot holes, nail holes, warps and water marks, so each artwork is totally unique.

Coulson Macleod Loves Oliveology

It’s not the organic Greek olive oil made by artisan farmers that gets us going with Oliveology. We’re sure it’s delicious. No. It’s the packaging.

The numbers represent the temperature that the olives are cold pressed at, the lower the temperature, the better the oil.

Oak-Framed Love Notes

Now for the eagle-eyed amongst you, or if you’re a super-duper fan of Coulson Macleod, you may recognise our latest collection called ‘Love Notes’…

Yes, this is not strictly a new collection of typographic prints. Just a re-worked one.

Our re-worked ‘Love Notes’ collection still features a handmade vintage-style frame made with rough-sawn solid oak.

Our re-worked ‘Love Notes’ collections still features a white-washed oak panel printed with distressed typography.

However the size of each print is now 54cm x 54cm x 8cm. Not the smaller 29cm x 29cm x 8cm.

Why? Well if you love someone you want to tell them in a big way!

Coulson Macleod Helps Regeneration

Whilst Googling Coulson Macleod yesterday I came across a council document entitled Kettering Town Centre Regeneration.

And lo and behold they have included us.

Under section 3 titled Better Town Centres, subheading New Shops, (yes, you can tell this is an Executive Committee document so do bear with me) it says,

3.1 Kettering resident Hannah Macleod started the design brand Coulson Macleod in 2009 without any external financing. Hannah is one of three finalists for Small Business of the Year in the East Midlands ‘Women of Worth’ Awards. Along with Hannah, several other entrepreneurs have rolled up their sleeves and are creating businesses in our town centre. Within the last two months we have seen the opening of:…

It then goes on to list a few shops that have opened up, such as a florist and a boutique.

So thanks Kettering Borough Council for recognising the contribution we’re making.
