Bespoke Art; A Great Wedding Gift Idea

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Coulson Macleod bespoke typographic art has been featured in the 100th issue of Wedding Ideas magazine.

Wedding Ideas featured our ‘What’ bespoke typographic print calling it a great gift idea. And indeed it is.

Our bespoke ‘What’ print features the words (written by ourselves) from our limited edition ‘What Is Love?’ print (see below)…

Coulson Macleod Judges For Design Refuge

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Coulson Macleod was asked to pick the ten finalists for Design Refuge’s October Challenge.

Such fun and a real honour. But you know what? It was really hard. The challenge attracted 48 amazing entries. And we had to choose just 10.

The challenge, which was open to anyone, was entitled “This is me!”.

Interior design bloggers had to post images that represented themselves and their design style. Whether it be a photo of a room, a piece of furniture, a spread from one of their favourite magazines, or a picture from their home or of themselves.

We picked the top ten and now anyone can vote on who their favourite is. The top three then win some very cool prizes. First prize is a Coulson Macleod typographic print of their choice.

So do please pop on over to Design Refuge and get voting.

Kingdom Of Rust

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Introducing our latest typographic art collection…

From Coulson Macleod’s Rust Collection

From Coulson Macleod’s Rust Collection

We had a lot of fun creating this collection. The steel sheets are naturally weather-rusted. Basically we left them outside. And watched them turn a gorgeous rust brown. As said so beautifully by Doves “My god. It takes an ocean of trust. In the Kingdom of Rust.”

The metal is then over-printed with relief-printed typography and then mounted into a handmade reclaimed wood frame. Once again we use antique Victorian roof timbers.

By using reclaimed wood and rusted metal (the rusting on the steel is completely unpredictable) means each artwork is totally unique.

Now this looks like something you’d find in a junk shop. And covet.

Coulson Macleod Keeps Calm

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Coulson Macleod’s latest collection of limited edition prints… Calm Britannia

Distressed Union Jack flags printed onto natural, coarse-weave, unbleached linen and then encased in a chunky sandwich of reclaimed wood.

Three different quotes.

Each print costs £169.

The frames are all handmade using reclaimed antique Victorian roof timbers. We’re totally loving all the natural defects in the timber too, they just ooze charm and character. Bring on the knot holes, nail holes, warps, and water marks!

We’ve fallen head-over-heels in love with these prints. So unique. And we particularly enjoy seeing the linen slightly waft when you open a door!

Coulson Macleod Makes A Noise

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Just had some really great close-up shots of our limited edition canvas print ‘American Noise’ — and we think they look fantastic.

Our canvas prints are finished by hand, by experienced local craftsmen.  We use a natural (100% cotton), textured canvas, complemented by a chunky (45mm deep) Dutch spruce frame.

Let us know what you think.

The Rich And Famous Buy Coulson Macleod

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

As we approach our first birthday, we thought it was about time to add a Testimonials page to the Coulson Macleod website.

We asked some of our more high profile and creative customers for their comments. We’ve got five lovely comments so far, so do check out our website to read them.

Of course, if you’re a Coulson Macleod customer who has a business that you’d like us to link back to, then please let us know. We’ve only been able to ask our customers that supplied a business email address so we could identify them. But we’d love to hear from you too.
