Top Drawer 2011; The Build-Up

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

Coulson Macleod’s very first trade show is under our belt. Top Drawer 2011 at London’s Olympia.

The whole event went remarkably smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We made friends with our neighboring stands. And loved chatting to all the retailers who came onto our stand to come and see and order our typographic art.

We’ll be blogging lots more about Top Drawer 2011, but for now here’s a few photos of Saturday — the build-day — to get our stand C42 ready for the show opening the following day, Sunday 11th September…

Coulson Macleod Amore Barbarella

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

We have already announced this on our Facebook page, but if you missed our latest exciting news, we have a new stockist.

In Milan.

Let’s say benvenuto to Barbarella Concept Store.

We know the owner, the wonderfully glamorous Barbara Marchesi. She is a very good Coulson Macleod customer. In fact Barbara loved her typographic pieces so much that she wrote us a wonderful testimonial.

Barbara said, “Your art works are so beautiful and original. The vintage look with a contemporary touch is amazing. The fact they are all handmade is really important. My women’s collection is entirely made in Italy and I love to share and support this attitude. The ‘Love’ collection is a very personal and instinctive way to tell to someone how much you love them. Gorgeous!”

Barbara already runs one of THE hottest fashion stores in Milan. And now she is opening up an interiors/concept store this month. And is stocking lots of Coulson Macleod artwork.

Barbara is one hot woman and owns one hot brand.

Italian Vogue wrote about Barbarella’s spring-summer 2011 collection, which they termed fresh. Vogue loved the hints of glamour, the prints and the colours and added that Barbarella’s signature style is feminine and elegant.

Vogue said, “A brand that is appreciated not only in the fashion world: the Milanese entrepreneur will this year receive the Milano Donna award, which is awarded annually to women entrepreneurs from Milan. Barbara Marchesi, 33 years old, founded her fashion house in 2008.”

Last year the award was given to Margherita Missoni. Wow!

We can’t wait to see what Barbara’s concept store will look like. Obviously amazing. And of course, we can’t wait to see our typographic prints up on the walls.

Tusen Takk Trondheim

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Thank you Trondheim. Yes, we have another Norwegian stockist. Let me introduce you to…

the latest shop to stock Coulson Macleod typographic art.

Trondheim is right at the top of Norway. So we pretty much have the whole of Norway covered with our five stockists.

The shop is due to open on 15th October and we’ll tell you more about it then. But this is the outside, pre-makeover…

Chez Nous will also be stocking the most delightful stationery from fellow Norwegian company Darling Clementine

And cushions and wallpaper from Danish company Ferm Living

This is the second shop in Trondheim for the owners of Chez Nous. Their first is Cornelias Hus. As ever, stocked with the most gorgeous products.

Coulson Macleod’s 4th Norwegian Stockist

Friday, September 17th, 2010

Welcome to Coulson Macleod’s latest stockist…

in Gjøvik, Norway.

This gorgeous concept store/café opened on September 1st.

Gjovik is a small enormously pretty town with obviously fabulous shopping. And is right on Lake Mjosa, the biggest lake in Norway.

Our hearts long for Norway.

Ja, Vi Elsker Dette Landet

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Ja, vi elsker dette landet? It’s Norwegian. It translates as, Yes, we love this country. This is the title of their national anthem. And this is how Coulson Macleod feels about Norway.

Why do we love Norway?

Actually the question should be, why does Norway love Coulson Macleod?

We’ve just taken an order from our fourth stockist there. Coulson and I are thinking a trip to Norway is in order. We can visit our gorgeous-looking stockists in Oslo, Bergen, Gjøvik, and Nittedal (pictured)…

and this gorgeous looking country…

Coulson Macleod Searches for Shops

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Coulson Macleod is on a global hunt. We’re looking for shops that want to stock our art.

Do you know any cool shops? If so, Coulson Macleod would love to hear from you.

We get heaps of enquiries from around the world. In particular from lovely people in America and Australia who obviously have huge amounts of good taste.

How nice it would be to say to our customers, “Don’t worry about the cost of shipping, you can simply pop along to your local interior/design shop and there you shall find a Coulson Macleod for you to buy and take home with you.”

As you know we already have shops selling Coulson Macleod art in the UK and Norway. Can you help us with our global shop hunt?

Coulson Macleod’s Antique Heaven

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Our friends at Story In Bray told us about the most amazing antiques shop, Lantique, in Petworth, West Sussex. I want practically everything on their website and the shop looks beautifully laid out. I’m totally smitten.
