One of our limited edition typographic prints, ‘Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner’ features in the December issue of the United Arab Emirates magazine, Emirates Home.

This is the third time Coulson Macleod has been featured in Emirates Home, and the second time editor, Penny McCormick, has chosen us for her Ed’s Choice page. So a massive thank you Penny, we’re clearly big fans of each other. The super-talented Penny is also editor of Harper’s Bazaar Interiors.

Coulson Macleod can be seen in this month’s issue of Red (not a feature, unfortunately, but we’ve got a lovely big advert.)
Now we don’t do a great deal of advertising, because advertising costs lots of money. We’d like to though. We appear monthly in Elle Decoration and Livingetc. And if you follow this blog, you’ll know that we did advertise in the January issue of Elle.
Our adverts always attract lovely new customers, which is obviously the point. But there is also a part of us that simply loves opening a magazine and seeing ourselves in print!

As you know, we had our Coulson Macleod artwork photographed professionally last Tuesday. We hired a pretty little chapel and a commercial photographer. We had piles of props, some of which are ours, some we borrowed, and some we bought just for the occasion. And here are a couple of the shots taken…

We’ve got 174 shots to work through. As you can see from the bottom photo, some of the shots need cropping (we obviously don’t want to see wall sockets in the final image). But we love the overall feel. We were lucky with the light that day too, which flooded through the chapel windows and meant that most of the shots were taken without needing artificial light.
Can’t wait to put them on our new-look website. In fact we can’t wait to show-off our new website.
So if you’re from a magazine and fancy featuring Coulson Macleod art, then we have plenty of high-res images to send you.

Coulson Macleod’s latest collection, Curio, has come about because we love rummaging around old junk shops. We live in hope of unearthing some amazing long-forgotten treasure. We usually don’t. So we’ve recreated two actual adverts, just the sort of thing we’d like to find, but didn’t.
Believe it or not these are actual adverts. We’ve given them the Coulson Macleod treatment — distressed text, rough-sawn solid oak frame, for a vintage, worn, and well-loved look.

According to Alexa, the clever folk who measure website traffic, Coulson Macleod is ranked 2,541,410 in the world. Admittedly we’ve got a long way to go before we get to number one, but this figure is up 190% in the last three months. One day we’ll be the number one for typographic art, and limited edition art, which will be good enough for me.
And if you only take our rank in the US we’re 386,653 the most popular website, which does sound so much better.

Since we launched Coulson Macleod Limited Edition back in March (2009) it’s been really exciting to see who and where people are talking about us, and we log all the best bits on our Facebook page. I’ve seen things written about us in all sorts of languages including Thai, and I just have to hope they’ve written nice things as it’s completely indecipherable to me.
Take a look and we’d love you to become a fan too.

Got a delightful email yesterday from the online store Not On The High Street.

They want to sell Coulson Macleod art.
Not On The High Street is the leading, award-winning, online contemporary marketplace created exclusively for small independent UK businesses. Apparently they decline over 95% of new applications in order to maintain their quality.
They also have a great-looking catalogue that showcases the products too.

Lucky us! Obviously if you’re reading this you already know all about Coulson Macleod and can buy our art direct from our website.
