Merry Christmas

Friday, December 24th, 2010

We at Coulson Macleod would just like to wish you all a very merry Christmas.

As 2010 draws to an end, it’s time for us to reflect back on one truly amazing year.

We’ve met and made so many wonderful friends: Coulson Macleod customers; friends on Facebook; Twitter; and of course readers of this blog. You’re all so kind and loyal and supportive. Thank you for taking the time to read our posts, leave comments, and spread the love.

So, thank you.

We have lots up our sleeves for next year. Think big and aim high, so they say. And as always we’ll share it with you, even if, sometimes, we get it wrong.

Merry Christmas.

Coulson Macleod.

Coulson Macleod Spotted On TV

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

A funny thing happened last night. As Coulson and I were enjoying dinner with friends our phones started beeping with incoming texts “you’re on TV!”

Yes, one of Coulson Macleod’s typographic prints had been spotted on Channel 4’s celebrity Christmas special of Come Dine With Me.

As usual the programme brought together a strange mix of folk. There was the DJ Goldie (pictured below), 70s crooner Tony Christie, ex-Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis (who’s now better known for being mother of singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor), and actress Susie Amy (best known as Chardonnay from TV-show Footballers’ Wives).

So can you guess in which home our art was spotted?

This is the third time Coulson Macleod has been featured in Emirates Home, and the second time editor, Penny McCormick, has chosen us for her Ed’s Choice page. Coulson Macleod Is Published

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

We mentioned in a previous post that our typographic art had been published. So of course we immediately went to Amazon and bought the design book, which is called 1,000 More Greetings.

And here it is, our copy…

1,000 More Greetings by Rockport Publishers

1,000 More Greetings by Rockport Publishers

It’s a great book, even if we weren’t in it. There’s some fabulous creative work, and we’re in exceedingly good company. Donna Karan and Anthropologie showcase their designs. And one whole page dedicated to a little UK-based art business making waves globally. Yep! Coulson Macleod. Needless to say we are giddy with excitement.

If you fancy owning a copy you can buy it from Amazon.

showcasing Coulson Macleod’s ‘Paris’ print

We fell in love with the simplicity of the shot: plain white sheets; old trunk; wooden bed; Paris. Lots of texture, gorgeous lighting. So very simple. So very Coulson Macleod.

And we couldn’t do this blog post without mentioning two of our favourites…

showcasing Coulson Macleod’s bespoke typographic art

We fell in love with the warmth and cosiness of this festive living room. We want to snuggle up on their sofa in front of the roaring log fire with a glass of mulled wine.

And this one just totally reflects the cool simplicity of Scandinavian chic: white-washed paneled walls; industrial light; P.S. I Love You. Beautifully styled.
